April Happenings

This girl LOVES my shoes.  Always a different pair.

This mama bird killed our hanging plant (see pic below) by building a birds nest inside of it.  She sat in the nest FORVER and we would never see her leave it until last weekend Dave caught her out of it for about 5 minutes. 

And look what's in the nest - 2 baby birds!  She came back and sat in the same spot for about another week and now, mama bird and two babies are gone and haven't returned!  Fingers crossed the little birds were old enough to fly and they have made themselves a new home somewhere else. 

Cole is getting old enough to take on Sydney...she's not too happy about.

We went to a music and dance class at the library the first week of April and this teacher had them on the floor stretching pretending to be seals.  I was amazed Sydney could do it...and then rocked back and forth.

I was going through clothes last week and putting small sizes away and getting out bigger sizes.  Sydney found these pajamas, passed down from cousin Joseph, in Cole's box.  They are now her new favorite jammies. Sorry, Cole, you'll ahve to wait a bit!

After the zoo one morning we stopped by the Holiday Bowl to say hi.  The kiddos were constantly entertained and had a blast!  I'm not sure it was a productive morning for them but we had fun!

She had a blast and asked to go back to the football field on her birthday with her jersey on!   She came up with that all on her own.

Cali dog

My mom was in Houston for a few days visiting the Ducotes and my dad had to travel for work so we got to have Cali dog stay with us for a few days!

Sydney LOVED having her here.  Was constantly following her, telling me that she was going to "play" with Cali and wanting to leave the playground early to come home to Cali!  She would get SO excited when she woke up in the morning and Cali dog was standing downstairs waiting for her. 

Cole thought her water dish was his own personal splash pool and enjoyed Cali licking his fingers after every meal.  I thoroughly enjoyed Cali eating all of the food off the floor so I didn't have to vacuum after EVERY. SINGLE. MEAL!!!

Sydney brushed Cali one morning and the proceeded to brush her own hair with Cali's brush!  :) 

I tried SO hard to get a picture of the kids with Cali but every time I brought out the camera, Cali would get up and move.  Sydney even caught on to it and said, "Mom, I don't think Cali wants her picture taken"

Thanks for staying with us, Cali.  This was good practice as we realized we're not quite ready for a dog.... yet!  We'll dog sit anytime though!

La Jolla

It has been GORGEOUS here the past couple of days so Sunday after naps, we ventured over to La Jolla to let the kiddos run around, check out the seals and have a picnic dinner.

On Tuesday afternoon, I met up with some friends at Del Mar beach for a few hours since it was warm for San Diego (90's).  I was a little nervous taking both kids by myself but they did great!  Sandy, wet and happy so I think they had fun!

I cant remember if I posted this one of Cole yet but had to include it :)  What we do while Daddy is hard at work!

Sydney has been really into mothering baby dolls and stuffed animals.  She spent SOOOOO long preparing a meal for Panda!

She asked for braids one morning (one of her friends had braids in her hair the day before) and I had to take this picture - I couldn't believe how grown up she looks!

Came out to the family room and she had set up school for Panda and Elmo.  She asked me to be their teacher :) 

Sydney after "nap" time...which isn't much of nap time anymore!  She normally spends an hour in her room (supposed to be quiet time) changing outfits, tearing everything out of her closet and drawers and jumping on her bed :)  When I walk upstairs to get her, I normally hear her little feet scurrying back to her bed!

This girl LOVES shoes!  Daddy took off his boots when he got home from work and she immediately put them on!
