Botanical Gardens

We ventured over to the botanical gardens over the weekend to let Sydney run around

She stopped every 2 feet to stop and check something out - it took awhile to get down to the lake!

So fun that she can now walk with us!

Checking out the fish & ducks.  The little boy next to Sydney was SO nice and shared his bread with her so she could feed the ducks... only problem is, she ate the bread instead of throwing it in the water!

24 weeks

6 months already - time is flying by with this one.  Other than being exhausted at 7 p.m., I'm feeling really good!

I realized I haven't posted in awhile so here are a few random pics (need to start taking more).

We met up with a friend at the beach one afternoon for a play-date.  Sydney and Lucas had fun "surfing". Rough growing up in Hawaii :)

Dave was travelling for work last week so I sent the pic above to him and this is what he emailed back:

She has mastered the skill of taking the chip clip off of all of the bags in the pantry and helping herself to snacks.  Ugh.  Think I may have to do some re-arranging.

Daddy and Syd went out to the backyard and picked flowers.  Here Sydney is giving me my flower. 

And as soon as I got it, she started signing 'please' for me to give it back to her!

Honolulu Zoo

We have been wanting to check out the Honolulu Zoo for awhile and finally checked it off our list on Monday. 

No zoo in sight for 2,511 miles!

They had an entire area designed for the kids - mini fish tank, petting zoo, nursery, etc!  It was great!

Dave thought this was hilarious... the sign said these were miniature horses and llamas... so I read the sign and told Sydney to look at the miniature horse.  This is what was in the enclosure: 

And Dave continued to make fun of me.... 

This was probably Sydney's favorite part - running around in the grass!  She LOVES animals so it was fun to see her get so excited while watching the different ones. 

22 weeks!

Dave and Sydney gave me the best gift this week and told me to take off on Sunday afternoon to have some Laura time!   I didn't argue... I grabbed my book and beach chair as quick as I could and headed off to the beach! :)  It was wonderful and much needed... but I did love coming home to the both of them after a few hours (and some ice cream!).

Pumpkin Patch

We visited the pumpkin patch over the weekend to get Sydney a pumpkin and to try and get in the mindset that it's fall (hard to do when it's 85 and sunny every day!).

Not a bad view for a pumpkin patch.  Mountains on one side and the beach on the other.

...until she found the dirt!  She loved it and all she wanted to do was dig.

I told Dave this wouldn't be a terrible place to be a farmer.  Ocean view while harvesting corn...
