The kids asked just about every day beginning in September how many more sleeps until Halloween.
Helping with the decoations
Depsite buying new costumes this year (Rapunzel and Leonardo from the Ninja Turtles), both kids opted to re-use last years costumes again. Would have been nice to know back in August when we bought them....
The library held a fun Halloween party the Friday night leading into Halloween. This is Sydney dancing with her friend Lena.
Cole got into it, too.
The storytime at this library is the best I have ever seen. The librarians are all in a band and they performed the music.
Carving pumpkins
Such concentration
Getting ready to head out
But first some silly faces....
Sydney dressed up as Elsa from Frozen
Cole as Spiderman
We went to the 'downtown' area along Orange Ave from 3-5 where all of the stores participated in a trick-or-treat. The kids enjoy this so much because there are lots of stops without a ton of walking and it is still light out so they can see all of the costumes.
After a quick bite to eat at a restaurant and a few stops at friends houses, we went trick-or-treating on our street. When they were done, they asked to hand out candy for the rest of the time - and had a blast doing it!
The finished jack-o-lanterns
Look at all this candy!
Cole did this all himself! I was SO impressed. This candy sorting kept them occupied for at least an hour and a half the next morning. Aside from the sugar rush, I'm a fan of Halloween!
Happy Halloween!
