Cole riding a 2 wheeler

We bought a new (to Cole) bike from a friend in Sydney's class at the beginning of May.  He wasn't really interested in it at first, but after a weekend with lots of practice, he got the hang of it.
Such a big boy!

It was orange and white when we got it but Cole later told us he didn't want an orange bike... he wanted to blue.  So, we did what any good parents would do - we bribed him :)  You practice riding, we'll ride to the hardware store and buy blue spray paint!  Next thing we knew, we were painting his bike!
Couple videos:

He still prefers his balance bike (he is SO fast on that thing) but it's nice to have the option of the 2-wheeler.  We aren't pushing him to only ride the 2 wheeler as we realize he's only 3 and don't want him to hate bike riding all together!

Mothers Day

We spent Mother's Day at Sea World this year and had a wonderful day!

First up, selfies on the sky tower!

Sydney loves touching all of the animals and could spend all day touching the fish and sharks

Silly girl!

There is a place to buy fish for the bat rays and we treated the kids to feeding them today!  They were both so brave and actually did it (well, Cole may have just thrown his in so the ray wouldn't touch his hand!)

Fun with the characters

Abby was dancing to music so Sydney and another little girl joined her party

We ended the day with an early dinner at Souplantation and early to bed since there were no naps and it was a long day!

End of April

Cole claimed he wasn't tired on the drive home... 5 minutes after getting on the road, he was out!

Fun at the ferry landing

Sweet girl!

I can't remember if I posted this but I want to remember it so I'm posting here (again).  Sydney is really into writing notes/cards/anything.  I was out one night and came home to this sweet card.
"To Mommy.  Cole loves you.  Sydney also loves you.  From Sydney"

Sydney's new set of wheels!

It's called a trail a bike and it attaches to an adult bike.  She still rides it like a 2 wheeler but it's great for longer distances, in case she gets tired she can take a break from pedaling, or on busy roads.

We did a family bike ride with Cole in the burley trailer behind me and Daddy and Sydney riding next to us!  So fun!

Daddy asked for a fishing pole for fathers day.  I had the fun idea of getting the kids fishing poles too - haha (not sure if he wanted that as his gift too... he probably wanted some alone time!).  The kids have spent a good amount of time 'fishing' off of the couch!

Biking by the bay

Silly face

Cole didn't want his picture taken!
We met up with friends to hike one morning at Tecolote Canyon, near USD
Most of the kiddos
Beginning of the trail was very dry but great for the kids to run

Cole hiking

Sydney hiking

This was the best part - we made it to a small creek and the kids spent so much time throwing rocks into the water

Gymnastics finished at the end of April.  The kids loved in and we're looking forward to starting back again in the fall (they break for summer)

We walked Sydney to school one morning and as soon as we got there, it started pouring!  We were SO not prepared.  Cole was wearing short sleeves (it was sunny when we left) so I gave him my long sleeve shirt I had around my waist to try and keep him a little dry.  Thankfully, a friend gave us a ride home so we didn't get soaking wet.

Brian & Hollie's Wedding!

Brian and Hollie got married on Friday, April 15th.  They were married at St. Bart's church in Rancho Bernardo and their reception was at the Bing Crosby in Rancho Santa Fe.  We had such a memorable day celebrating the two of them!
Brian and Hollie asked Sydney and Cole to be the flower girl and ring bearer in their wedding, along with the two kids that Hollie nannies for.  Sydney and Cole were talking about their big day forever so were so excited when it finally arrived!!

How cute is Cole's bag for his suit?!?

We got dressed at Nani & Poppa's house and then Dave drove me and the kids to where Hollie and the girls were getting dressed.  We hung out there with the girls and then rode the trolley with them to the church!

So handsome!

Lollipop bribery while hanging out on the trolley

Sydney with bridesmaids and Hollie

Sweet Sydney wanted to sit in between the bridesmaids.

Oh. my. heart!!!

And then there's this monkey who wouldn't smile for a picture!!!!

I love his suit and tie!  He was ready to tear this outfit off but did a good job of wearing it during the ceremony.

Sweet flower girls hanging out before going into the church

The crew - impossible to get a good picture of the 4 of them!
(Sammi, Sydney, Cole & Jonah)

Getting ready to walk in!

Sydney and Cole were so excited when they saw the Ducote kids and they definately kept each other entertained during the ceremony.  Taking pictures of each other killed a little bit of time...

Sweet Julia wanted in on the action

After the ceremony we headed to the reception.

Notice Cole's crocs - he ripped his dress shoes off the second he got into the car after the ceremony!

And they're done with pics!

Since they loved the family pics so much we thought it would be fun to take one of all the cousins - ha!!

They all liked it when we said a silly one :)

Brian & Hollie - Mr. & Mrs. delaMontaigne!!!

The kiddos ruled the dance floor for the first 1/2 hour!  Brian and Hollie were so sweet and played "Let it Go" from Frozen as one of the songs - the kids loved it!!

Shortly after dinner, Dave took the kids back to Nani & Poppa's where we had our sitter meet them there.  I went back and forth with this decision of keeping them at the reception for the entire time or sending them home and I am SO glad we sent them home (around 8:45).  Right before they left, Sydney came up and told me she was tired and ready for bed!

Dave made it back to the reception and we were able to have fun dancing and talking with family and friends!
