Using a spoon

I was feeding Sydney oatmeal this morning and about 1/2 through she kept grabbing the spoon from me wanting to feed herself... so, I let her go for it!  It makes for a very messy meal but she was happy!

I had a bunch of random pics on my phone & camera that I wanted to make sure made the blog so it will be in our book (yes, I found out you can turn a blog into a book so that's on my to-do list!).

It's already becoming apparent that the 2nd baby doesn't get nearly as many pics as with the 1st.  When I was pregnant with Sydney, I had a weekly belly shot from 10 weeks on.  This baby, not so much.  I have 2 so far and I'm almost 1/2 way....

I'm feeling much better now than I was the first few months.  I'm always tired but that's to be expected chasing around after a 1 year old all day.  I can only imagine how tired I am going to be in a year from now...

We head back to the doctor next week for my 20 week apt. and then the ultrasound the following week.  At this point I don't think we're going to find out the sex but we still have 2 weeks to change our minds :)

Go Gators!

On Saturday we headed down to Waikiki so Dave could meet up with some friends to watch the gator game at a restaurant that hosts the UF alum club.  I didn't think Sydney would do too well in a bar for 4 hours so we opted to hit up Ala Moana mall and then meet up with everyone after halftime.  It worked out perfectly... and was even better that the Gators won!

After the game we ventured over to Rum Fire which is right on the water and has a view of DiamonHead!

Sydney's latest obsession is drinking out of straws.  She LOVES it and always have to drink from my water bottle instead of hers if she eyes it.

We're excited to announce that we're expecting baby #2 in February 2013!!

Swim lessons

Sydney started an infant/parent swim lesson class last week on base.  I've looked into classes for her at the Y but the times didn't work out for her nap schedule or my work schedule so I'm glad we finally found one!  This one is W/Th nights from 5-5:30 and is right next to Dave's work so he's been able to swing by and head in the water with her!

We took off from San Diego early Saturday morning and started our trip to the East coast.  What we thought would be a 10 hour travel day quickly turned into an 18 hour travel day when we arrived at the airport and found out they cancelled our connecting flight from Houston and never bothered to tell us...not a good way to start the morning but we tried to make the most of it.

We immediately forgot about the long travel day when we awoke the next morning on the beach and we were with family!

The first day we spent relaxing on the beach but the next day was a little overcast so we took advantage of the cloud coverage and headed down to check out the Ocean City Boardwalk.

Thanks to Mimi & Jawg for organizing and planning such a fun week!!!   Aunts, uncles and cousins all came down throughout the week to stay for a night or two but unfortunately we didn't get any pictures while we were all together!   The week went by WAY too quickly... we wish we were on vacation again!

Wild Animal Park

We arrived back in SD from Big Bear on Thursday morning and hit up the Wild Animal Park (now called the San Diego Zoo Safari Park) early Friday morning to try and beat the heat and the crowds! 

It was Dave's first time at the park and it had been years since I had been!

We walked by the lion encounter thinking we weren't going to see anything and then as soon as we turned a corner, this guy was sitting right next to the window.  He was HUGE!!!

Then made our way over to the elephant exhibit.  We timed this one perfectly as it was feeding time so the elephants were SO close!

Tuckered out from a fun day!

We were hoping both kids would nap for hours in the afternoon but no such luck.  I think they both had mini naps so we spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool!

The week flew by but we had such a great visit!  Crazy to think that next time we see the Ducote's they will have a little girl in their family!!!
