End of April & Beginning of May

She worked so hard to master being able to walk across this all by herself!

Daddy's farewell happy hour (he's leaving his current command in a few days and transferring to a new command in Coronado)

His boss saying great things about the work he accomplished

Cole wanted in, too!

Crazy girl riding her scooter with goggles!

We went in the hot tub one afternoon with Nani and Poppa and I went up to change and came back down to these three sitting on the couch having a snack!

Hiking to Lake Ramona

Brian, Mom and I hiking on Mother's Day

Mothers Day Selfie!

Cole working hard at preschool :)

We went to the safari park one morning and they were more interested in running up and down this hill than seeing the animals.  Tired kiddos = good naps :)

I managed to get them off the hill and we did check out the bats before heading home!

Cole trying on his new undies.  He's not potty trained yet but we're slowly working on it.

Cole and his friend Luke

These two were playing in Luke's garden FOREVER!!!

We met up with a friend at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park last week.  The kids loved feeding the koi fish.

Nani and Poppa spent the night at our house so we could go out to a baseball game with some friends.  The next morning the kiddos were so excited to go wake them up and sleep with them!

View from our seats - thanks, Bubba!!

Sydney reading to Cole

Another trip to the safari park.  We have had some May gray and even some light rain the past two weeks which has been a nice change - and kept the crowds away from the animal park!!!

Bubba gets engaged!

Our month of April got a lot more exciting on the 26th because Brian (Bubba) proposed to Hollie!!  We were so excited that we got to be a part of this BIG day!

Brian had this planned out for quite some time.  He figured she would least expect it at a 1/2 marathon that HE was running so he signed up for the La Jolla half marathon.  We met up with Hollie that morning before the race to 'carpool' (aka making sure we were in the right spot with her and that she showed up).  We found a great spot to hang out around mile 8, right at the top of Torrey Pines Hill and waited for Brian to run by.

He started walking towards her...

Got down on 1 knee...

And asked her to be his wife!

Eeeeek!  SO exciting.

We were standing right next to this amazing group of people cheering and as soon as they realized he was proposing, they all ran over and started yelling for them.  So fun!

And then Brian had to go finish his run... so he was off.

She was surprised!  Mission accomplished!!!

Congrats, Brian and Hollie.  We are so excited for your future together!

April pics

Now that it's almost mid-May, I figured I better get some pictures of April off of my phone!

Sydney pushing Cole on the big swing

Cutting up a sweet potato by helfself!

Our MOPS group went to visit a senior living center one morning.  They had story time and snacks for the kids and the grandmas were so appreciative we were there.

Playground fun

Playing trucks with friends

Enjoying ice cream pie from Mommys birthday

The kids were on a cutie kick for a long time.  Cole would have to peel his own every single time!

We headed to COronado one morning and spent the morning at the bay.  So fun!

First time writing her own name!

A ladybug landed on Sydney's hand

We had some really nice weather and so they asked for bowls and water and got their bath toys. Their clothes quickly got wet so they decided to play inside the bowls.

Swinging before heading down to the beach

This started out as a watercolor activity on paper but quickly turned into a painting on the body activity.  They were both happy so I let them have fun.

He LOVED it!!!

Fun on the swings

Reading together.  They sat like this for SO long and just kept reading book after book.  Sydney would read and Cole would turn the pages.  So sweet.

A rare rainy day but they were planning on planting new flowers... and so they did anyways!

We headed to the zoo one morning.  They could have stayed here by the flamingos all day if I would have let them.

Selfie (aka sophie) on the skyfari at the zoo.
