Super Nani & Poppa

When my mom went out to Texas in December to help my sister after she had baby Ella, Lisa appropriately named her Super Nani.

My mom was in Hawaii for 3 weeks (yes, I think she used all of her vacation/sick leave for us!) and never stopped working once she stepped off that plane.  She cooked, cleaned, took care of Sydney, did the laundry, etc.  It was like having a live in maid - we were spoiled!!

Although we had a backup plan if Cole decided to come before she made it out here, thankfully he waited until she arrived (and then some) so my mom was able to stay at our house with Sydney while we were at the hospital.  Such a huge relief for her to be in her own crib/house/etc. because her world was soon to be turned upside down.

We got home from the hospital on the 18th and Poppa flew in on the 19th.  I think him and Nani were hoping to have a little Hawaiian vacation but instead had a working vacation!
Poppa was AWESOME at entertaining Sydney for hours on end...

My parents took Sydney to gymnastics, library story time  music class and entertained her for most of the day so we could sleep in(!!!) and get used to having a newborn around again.

Sydney twirling in her tutu.  She was a ham with all of the extra attention on her.

Nani and Poppa taught her how to say princess and they kept calling her princess Syd Syd so she now occasionally calls herself princess.  Wonderful :)

We can't thank you two enough for spending your time with us!  You made the first week SO easy on us.  xoxo

One week!

It's crazy how a one week old has completely stolen our hearts.

Sydney is adjusting to being a big sister.  As soon as we get something out for Cole, she decides she wants to play/lay on it.

Cole finally gets a turn on his new blanket when Sydney is napping.

Like father like son.  Nap time.

So sweet.

Loving all of the extra attention from Nani and Poppa.  They have been lifesavers!!!

Checking out her brother.

Love you, little man.

He was 8 lbs. 7 oz. and 21 inches long.

First bath - not loving it!

Getting excited to leave the hospital!!

Finally making it home!  Sydney checking out her new brother.

I'm probably jinxing myself but he is such a great baby!  A great eater and sleeper and is so content!  We are so blessed.

40 weeks and counting

40 weeks and 5 days... still pregnant.  My water broke 6 days after my due date with Sydney so maybe tomorrow (Valentine's Day) is the BIG day?  If nothing happens by Friday I go to the doctor for an hour of monitoring on an ultrasound and heart rate monitor and then have an induction scheduled for Saturday...as long as there is room in labor and delivery!

So, the good news is, in less than a week, we'll be able to hold our new little one - crazy!

40 weeks 5 days and VERY pregnant

18 months

This little one turned 18 months last week.  Unfortunately she had a nasty cold and double ear infection all last week so is just now getting back to her normal self.

She is always on the go!  Busy little girl who moves from one activity to the next within seconds.

She has recently started talking a TON and it's so fun to listen to her vocabulary increase.

She is a feisty little one and knows what she wants.  I have a feeling the terrible two's will come in full force with this one.

But she's SO sweet.  Will run up to your leg and give you hugs throughout the day.

Still a daddy's girl and gets the biggest smile when he walks in the door from work and SPRINTS to see him.

She still claims she doesn't want a brother or a sister but loves being around other kids so we're hopeful she lets us keep the new addition around :)

We can't imagine life without her.  Our days are busy but she is SO much fun.

18 month stats:
22 pounds
30 1/2 inches
Doctor said she is a petite little girl and not to worry because everyone can't be a giant :)

39 1/2 weeks

Yes, I'm still pregnant.  Very pregnant if you ask the woman in Babies R Us who asked me over the weekend if I was having twins.  Ha!

My mom flies in tomorrow for 3(!!!!) weeks so we're all looking forward to having her here.

We go back to the doctor on Friday for our 40 week appointment and if the baby isn't here by the 15th, they will schedule an induction.
