Mimi & Jawg's visit to SD

Mimi and Jawg came out to San Diego to visit us and Uncle Mark for 12 days!  I think they're excited to be back home in Florida so they can sleep past 6:30 a.m. and not have to plan their days around nap times :)

We tried to fit in as much sightseeing/fun activities as possible while they were here.  It's always fun having visitors because it forces us to get out and do things!  And... I even got to escape for 48 hours to meet some girlfriends in Vegas!

Hanging out at Torrey Pines Beach

Jawg & Cole going for a walk

They did this forever!

Daddy & Cole

Mimi, Sydney and I hiked Torrey Pines while the boys hung out on the beach.  She was a trooper!

She walked for awhile and almost fell asleep in the carrier!

But then found fun rocks to explore.

And beautiful views to take in

And pictures to take with Mimi

The walk back on the beach took awhile because she walked the entire way.  Dave texted us asking if we were ok :)

There were older girls doing gymnastics on the sand and she could have watched them all day.

Sweet Syd Syd

She notices the smallest details in life.  Love this about her but I was ready to keep walking at this point.

So pretty!

After the beach we headed back to our house, showered up and had Uncle Mark, my parent and Uncle Jerry & Aunt Denise who were visiting from New Hampshire, over for dinner.

Most of us...

Fun at the playground

The boys went kayaking one morning in La Jolla

We hung out at the beach/playground waiting for them

They survived!

Thanks for coming out, Mimi & Jawg!  We love you.

Cole's Baptism

Cole was baptized on Sunday, July 29, 2014 at the Naval Air Station North Island Church (same place where Sydney was baptized!).

My brother, Brian, is his GodFather and Dave's sister, Lisa, is his GodMother.  Lisa lives in New Jersey and was unable be with us so Dave's Aunt Denise stood in as Cole's GodMother by Proxy.

Waiting for church to start

Playing peek-a-boo

He was baptized during a mass so we were called up after the priest gave his homily

All done!

Wish my eyes were open!   Great pic of everyone else after church

Us with Father Jose

After church we headed over to the park to have a brunch/picnic.

I had to put this one in here because I LOVE Sydney's dress.  I bought it on clearance last summer and it finally fits her!  Wish I could find one in my size!

Group photo!  From L to R:  Uncle Bubba, Nani, Cole, Momma, Poppa, Sydney, Jawgie, Mimi, Uncle Mark, Aunt Denise, Uncle Jerry and Daddy.

We're blessed so many were able to be with us to celebrate Cole and his baptism!

Walking and Talking

It seems like in the past week or so, Cole's vocabulary and movement have taken off! He is starting to talk so much more and on Thursday, June 26th, he stood up from sitting down and took several steps.  He still prefers crawling (he is FAST!) but is walking more and more each day.

He is a video or Cole saying Syd Syd for the first time and him taking some steps!

1st real haircuts

Both kids had their 1st real haircuts on Monday morning.  We werent sure how they would do but they both did great!!  I think it helped that they had a huge toy area as soon as you walked in the door that both kids went staright to.
Sydney asked that Cole go first!  He sat on my lap and we just rotated toys for him to play with.

I wish I had a before picture of the back of his hair. It was turning into a mullet and was in desperate need of a cut!

The hairdresser used the clippers on him and she said she has never seen anyone sit as still as him!  She also warned me that his next several times may not be as easy :)
All done!  Looking like such a big boy.

Next up... Sydney!

Before picture of her hair.  I didn't want a lot taken off but she definitely needed the ends cleaned up.

So brave!

Pigtails with glitter :)

Happy kiddos

His first lollipop!  He took one lick and said "mmmmmmmmmmmmm"  I didn't let him have it for too long because he started biting down on it and didn't want little hard pieces in his mouth.
