Christmas Eve

After getting back from the beach and watching the Surfing Santa competition, the kids rested and then we headed off to church.  Mass started at 4 p.m. and even though we got there early (3:45), it was already standing room only!  The kiddos did great and we headed home right after for dinner.

Trying to get a decent picture...

Proved to be difficult...

Maybe next year...

Since the kids picture went so well, we thought we would give a family photo a shot.  And had just about the same results: :)

We'll try that again next year, too!

Right before dinner, we heard a knock on the door so headed over to see who it could be...

SANTA!!!!!

He was SOOOO happy!!!

He just visited briefly and then head to finish the rest of the houses.

(The Coronado FireStation teamed up with the Rotary Club and they had a toy drive which included a Santa visit.  Basically, you bring a wrapped child for each child and an unwrapped toy for a child in need, drop it off at the fire station the first couple of days in December and they will send a Santa to visit you on Christmas Eve sometime between 5-7.  We will be better prepared next year with cameras.  It happened so fast and the kids were so excited!)

Getting ready for Christmas

We had lots of fun during December...
Arts and crafts with the Ducote's at the Children's museum

Scenic bike rides

Cole rode his balance bike from our house all the way to the Coronado Bridge and back!c  Over 3 miles!  I kept asking if he wanted to turn around and he would say, "NO!" We were so proud of him.
This girl.  And her accessories.  Getting ready to ride to school.

Making gingerbread houses.  Note to self - use the kit next year!!

They were creative though and did everything on their own.

Checking out the Sunday ads, dreaming up their Santa wishlist

Boat parade!
Decorating Christmas cookies with friends

This was Sydney's masterpiece!!!  And, after eating all of that sugar, she even managed to take a nap!

Making cookies

Helping roll out the dough

Lining up all of the hershey kisses for our kiss cookies.

A friend hosted a PJ brunch 2 days before Christmas.

Controlled chaos :)

Daddy and Sydney went out for a walk one night after Cole was in bed to look at Christmas lights around the neighborhood.

Daddy was off the whole week before Christmas so he took the kids on a few fun adventures while I ran errands/wrapped/etc. They loved the time with him (and the special treats he got them!!)
Hanging out in Old Town one afternoon

Park time

Checking out Christmas lights in Point Loma

Daddy and Sydney rode their bikes all the way to the beach!

Feeling the water on December 24th

Enjoying some hot cocoa

Sand Castle

There was a surfing santa event at the beach right past the Del so we headed over there Christmas Eve morning to check it out.

There goes santa!
