Fire Station Fieldtrip

On Monday, we headed over to our local fire station for a field-trip!

These firefighters were SO amazing with the kids.  The fires in SD happened one day after our tour and the first fire happened less than a mile from this station. I'm sure every single one of these guys pictured were out there keeping us safe and we are so thankful!

Police Station Fieldtrip

On Tuesday we headed over to the police station for a field-trip with Sydney's preschool. 

We all met outside of the library before heading over to the station and the kids made binoculars.  So fun!

And... trying to get a group photo which was nearly impossible.  Not all of these kids are in the preschool.  2 are older sisters and 3 are from moms not in our co-op but wanted in on the field trip.

Such a fun morning.  We're off to the fire station this week so more pictures to come!

Hot hot hot

Phew, it was HOT last week.  We had santa ana conditions for 5 days - strong winds and dry, hot conditions.  

Thankfully, our house stayed pretty cool and we found enough water/shady activities to do to keep everyone busy.

We met friends at a splash park one morning.  Cole loved it.

Cheers!

While we stayed with my parents last summer after leaving Hawaii, every night at dinner after saying grace, we would "cheers" with our cups. Not sure how it started but it has stuck.  Sydney always is the first to cheers and now Cole wants in on the action.

I love his high pitched "cheers!".  He holds his cup up and keeps saying cheers until you hit his cup!  So fun!
