First 1/2 of March

She wants to run everywhere now.  I love how her little arms pump back and forth.

Still going...

We went to the safari park one morning and she walked the entire time (and then took a 2+ hour nap, which is rare)!! I need to start doing that daily...
 Checking out the flamingos

Their favorite part of the safari park this day = the playground with the fake animals - ha!

Happy boy in the woodchips

Daddy and Nani always let Sydney ride the carousel when they take her and I'm always the mean one who says no when it's just us :)  Since she walked the entire morning and went to the potty 3xs while we were there, I said YES!

We saw this cement truck while walking to the playground one day and both kids were obsessed with it.  I'm sure the workers thought we were crazy just standing there for 10+ minutes watching them.

Daddy was out of town last week for work so we sent him this pic one night before bed.  Cole's serious face cracks me up!

Dance party!

This little girl loves the monkey bars.

Still needs some help getting across but I think she can make it farther than I can!

Happy boy!

Sticks and grass... not much else to make a little boy happy.

And, this is his latest trick.  Not a huge fan, especially since every time he gets in, Sydney wants to join him inside the drawer.

We were playing in the front yard and all of a sudden water started coming down the street.  Both kids bolted for it and I let them play in it.  I'm sure cars driving by thought I was crazy but that's ok... they had fun splashing.

He rarely falls asleep in the car so I had to document this one.  Tuckered out after the beach!

This is probably tmi but it was a BIG day in our house.  I think we are about 95% potty trained!  We still have to remind her to use the potty if we are out and about but she is doing SO great.

Yay Syd Syd

What a life.  Lounging in the sun eating a popsicle.   Ahhhhh!

Beach Day

It's been feeling like summertime and it's only March - needless to say, we're happy!  We took advantage of the nice weather last weekend and headed over to Del Mar beach for a few hours.  We had happy, sandy, wet kiddos by the end.

Espanol Class

Sydney just finished her first 6-week Spanish class session and loved it!  A friend taught Spanish in schools before having kids and now stays at home to be with her children but decided to start Spanish lessons in her home.

I signed us up, more for me to get out of the house and have a weekly 'playdate', and came away from the class blown away by how much she has learned/picked up.

The 6 week theme was all about The Very Hungry Caterpillar book and covered colors, numbers, a few animals, and some descriptive words.  She is constantly telling me what colors she sees in Spanish over English now and cracks us up when comparing grande items vs. Chiquita items (big/small)

Painting the caterpillars casa (house)

Showing Ms Connie her manzana (apple)

We're hoping she offers another 6 week session so we can sign her up again!

1 year

How is it possible that he is 1 already?  On one hand it feels like yesterday I was pregnant with him but on the other, we can't imagine our family without him.
Weight:  21 pounds 15 oz. (60th%)
Length:  29 1/2 inches (50th%)

He gave us the best birthday present EVER by sleeping through the night (for the first time in a year!!!) on February 14th and again on February 16th.  Even though I still woke up numerous times, out of habit, it was nice not to have to get out of bed!

He is always on the go and rarely sits still.  So opposite from his sister who will sit and listen to book after book being read.  He likes chasing balls, playing trains, banging blocks...the louder and faster a toy goes, the better.  He really enjoys being outside and has started squealing and pointing to the swings every time we go to the park.

There isn't a food we have given him that he hasn't liked/eaten.  It makes mealtimes so easy!  He eats a ton (definitely more than Sydney) but is really good about eating his fruits and veggies!  We switched him to whole milk around 11 months and he now drinks it 3xs a day.  Mealtimes tend to be a mess and we do multiple outfit changes a day but we're thankful to have a growing, healthy boy!

He's serious most of the time and can be hard to get a smile from but when he does smile/laugh, it melts your heart...you know its genuine.  Sydney has started making him belly laugh and it is so adorable to watch.

He's walking holding onto objects/tables but hasn't stood on his own yet or taken any steps... and I'm ok with that!  He's a crazy fast crawler and is starting to climb up on everything so anything with a ledge/steps we need to watch him like a hawk.

Can't believe you're already 1.  We love you!
