O-N-E!

That was the fastest 365 days of my life!  Cannot believe this little girl is ONE.
We started out the morning with pancakes, sausage and fruit!  She was happy :)

As soon as breakfast was over, she started to make some damage into her packages.

And played with her new toys...

So happy!

She enjoyed the cards :)

Little photo-shoot that didn't go as I planned but that's alright!  Wasn't my birthday.

After naps and a birthday party for a friend, we headed over to the beach for the afternoon.

I had this great idea of having her eat her cupcake at the beach... no mess inside the house.  So, I packed up her bumbo seat, tray, candle, matches and what I thought was her cupcake that I put in the Tupperware.  I was SO upset when I opened up the top to find this:

Ugh!!!!

So, we did cupcakes after dinner instead.

Checking out the candle

Not that into it...

Taste test...

I think she approved :)
Happy happy birthday, sweet girl.  We love you.

Growing next to her cabbage patch doll

This has been the quickest year of our lives!  Someone once told me that once you have children, the days are long but the years are short.  I couldn't agree more!!  I have tons of pics to sort through from her birthday yesterday but for now, here are her monthly cabbage patch shots.  Amazing how much they grow every month!

Lieutenant Commander

Yesterday was Dave's promotion ceremony from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander!

It was held at the Submarine Dive Tower on Pearl Harbor Naval base.  The Dive Tower was originally constructed as the Pearl Harbor Submarine Escape Training Tank in 1932 to teach and re-qualify submariners in escape techniques.  It offers panoramic views of Pearl Harbor, Diamond head and the Ko'olau Mountain range.

I changed one of his shoulder boards

And Sydney did the other one!

It's a tradition in the Navy to pass down your old shoulder boards to someone who is about to be promoted  to your old rank.  Dave passed his on to his buddy Brian, another Gator!

After the brief ceremony, coworkers showered him with leis, a Hawaiian tradition.

Dave served with the guy on the far left on the USS Charlotte 8 years ago in Hawaii.  He is currently back in Hawaii for 2 months doing training to become a Submarine Commanding Officer and will be stationed in San Diego shortly.

All of the lei's on the table - such a shame they don't last longer!

Congratulations, Dave!  We are SO very proud of you and your hard work you have put in to get to this point.
