With a little TLC from Dave (and fertilizer), we now have a pineapple growing!

Whale Watching

This past weekend we headed over to the North Shore to go whale watching!  We went on a 2 1/2 hour catamaran cruise around the northern part of Oahu in search of whales.

I guess my expectations were too high because I was expecting to see this:

But we did see this:

The crew on the boat was awesome and we had a fun day out on the water.  Dave is excited because Sydney didn't get sea sick so she may have a future in the Navy :)

Retirement Cermony

Dave was asked to be the honorary speaker at a retirement ceremony on Friday for a chief who he served with on the USS Charlotte (sub).  Sydney and I went along to support Dave and to give thanks to Scott for serving our country for 24 years!

Ceremony was held at the PARCHE memorial on Pearl  Harbor

Supply Ball

On Saturday night Dave and I had a night out on the town while we attended the Navy Supply Corps 217th Birthday Ball.  The ball was held at the Kahala Resort, a gorgeous hotel just past Diamondhead, which features a dolphin lagoon and has had every U.S. President from Lyndon Johnson to George W. Bush stay there!

Rain, rain go away!!

Here are some pics from the past week.  We spent a lot of time indoors as we had crazy weather (rain, hail, thunderstorms and even a tornado 5 miles from us!!).  It seemed like such a long week because we were stuck inside but I guess I shouldn't complain when the other 51 weeks of the year we have perfect weather.

7 months!

I know I say this every month but it's crazy how fast time goes when you have a kid!  7 months already... she's closer to 1 than a newborn now!

She continues to be such a happy baby!  I was telling my mom last week that I'm scared to have any more kids because she is SO easy!  I'm sure we'll pay for this in about 13 years... 

She is rolling over all the time now!  Front to back and back to front.  Her latest trick is rolling over in her crib so we find her on her belly!  I think we go in to check on her more now than when she was a newborn.

...and realizing she is a 'chew toy'.  She's still chewing on everything!  No teeth are visible but I think we're getting close.  She has been drooling a ton and something is always in her mouth. 

She's sitting up all by herself now and will occasionally fall down but it doesn't seem to bother her.  

We love you baby girl.  Happy 7 month birthday!

Bath time

Bath time continues to be one of Sydney's favorite parts of the day.  I went in to check on Dave and Sydney the other night and found this:

Listening to what Daddy is saying - I doubt this will be the case in 13 years!
