Wedding Week!

Brian and Hollie got married on Friday, April 15th, but we started celebrating early that week with the arrival on Lindsay & Paul.  They flew in from New York late Tuesday evening so the kids were so excited (at 6 am) when they woke up on Wednesday morning to see them!!

Auntie Lindsay came with us to drop Sydney off at school and then we went for a bike ride/walk.  Cole was OBSESSED with feeling her baby in her belly.  It was the sweetest thing!

Wednesday afternoon, after the guys were done golfing, we had Lindsay & Paul, the Ducotes, Nani & Poppa, Uncle Bruce, Aunt Gloria and Bruce (from NY) and my Aunt Pam & Uncle Bob (from Nebraska) over for a BBQ.

Uncle Paul entertained the kids :)

The kids all took turns feeling Auntie Lindsay's belly

On Thursday, we headed up to Rancho Bernardo for the rehearsal and then on to Escondido for the rehearsal dinner.  My parents have lived in their new house for almost a year now and their backyard was just compleed about a month ago!  Perfect timing to host the rehersal dinner!!

Cookies for dessert

And mini bundtinis

It was SO fun being able to mingle and walk around and not have to sit at one place the entire evening!

Bruce teaching the kids how to play cornhole

Dave manned the oven and had the appetizers ready to go when we came in from the church.

They had a food truck come which was a huge hit!

April

Here's what we were up to in April:
The rose garden by the ferry landing started to bloom the first week in April.  So beautiful!

Playing hide and seek in the roses - can you spot Cole?

Sydney dressed up as a waitress and was taking our breakfast order

Haircuts before Brian's big day!

So handsome!

I think they cut her hair uneven and it drives me crazy but it's healthier now than what it was and I don't want it much shorter so will have to let it grow a bit

There may have been some bribery to get them (Cole) into the hairdressers

Morning at Sea World

Fun at the ferry landing

These two.  So sweet.  We were finishing breakfast and I said, "ok you can go play for 10 minutes before we need to get ready to leave."  They thought I said pray.  So, when I went to check on them because it was eerily quiet, I heard: "...please keep us healthy and let us have fun..."

Beach afternoons with friends

The kids have been taking gymnastics at the community rec center for the past month.  Their class is every Tuesday afternoon for 40 minutes.  It's been fun to see their skills and confidence grow.

My girl

We had visits to the dentist - both kiddos were so brave and did great!

Cole sat in the chair and let the dentist do the whole exam - a huge improvement from 6 months ago when I had to hold him and he tried to clench his mouth shut for most of it :)

Listening to music while beading - she was in her zone!

My dad's friend, Mr. George, is moving into an assisted living home.  He has a ton of unique furniture/memorabilia in his house that he has acquired throughout his life.  My dad asked if we wanted anything and this trunk jumped out at me... I just had a different vision for its use!

Swimming - this girl went from using floaties to a noodle to swimming without any help all within an hour.

Ha!  She said she wasn't tired!!

More gymnastics

I had a dinner out with some friends last week and came home to this card waiting for me.  :)
Sydney wrote all of it - says "Cole love(s) you
From Sydney
To Mommy
Sydney also love you

My heart just about exploded!

Sydney's latest potholder - she did it all by herself!  I remember doing these when I was about 10...not 4!

Sydney and Cole were going to spend the night at my parents house on Saturday so we could go out for our anniversary but Cole got sick on Friday with an ear/eye infection.  He was pretty miserable so we stayed put and took a rain-check.  My parents had already purchased tickets to Seussical the Musical for Sydney, Cole, Ella and Joseph Saturday afternoon so I took Sydney up to see the play while daddy and Cole hung out at home.

Nani and Poppa treated the kiddos to frozen yogurt after!

Thanks, Nani & Poppa!

What a great month!
