Peter Pan

Last Saturday, Sydney got to go to her first play - Peter Pan.  A friend told me about a show that a local school (K-high school) was putting on so we decided to check it out.  I wasn't sure how well she would do since she hasn't even seen a full length movie and this play was 1.25 hours long.

I don't think she moved an inch the entire time!!  She was fascinated with the characters, lights, music, etc.  It was so fun to see it through her eyes.

We invited Nani to join us and we're so glad she was able to come!

After the show, all of the cast was outside to sign autographs, take pictures, etc.  Sydney only wanted to meet Tinkerbell - and so we did!  Tink gave Sydney some pixie dust in her hair which was a HIT!

We went for fro-yo after.

When we got home, she had us read her the program over and over and over (and over) again.  She was fascinated with the pictures of the people playing the characters and their 'real names'.

I was SO impressed with the quality of the play and will definitely check it out again next year.

Safari Park

We headed to the Safari Park last Tuesday (St Patty's Day) since they had just opened up the butterfly exhibit and we had a free morning.

Little sass in her walk :)

Stop.Growing.Up.

We were walkng by the reptiles and the zookeeper was just starting her morning checks on the animals so asked Sydney (and Cole) if they would like to help.  They got to watch her weigh them, feed them and take them out of their cage!

HUGE bullfrog.  The kids loved him!!

Baby Rhino!  His partner in the pen is a cow :)

He wanted to run

While she needed a snack/rest break

Pointing at the butterflies.  He LOVED it!!  He kept saying," LOOK!  LOOK!  LOOK!"

She just squatted down and watched him forever.

After the butterflies they were ready to go home :)  Since it was only about 9:15, I convinced them to walk around the lake, see the ducks and then head to the gorillas.

We stumbled upon these lily pads that the kids had a blast jumping across over and over and over!

Such a big boy he can now climb this all by himself!

First half of March

The first half of this month has flown by.  We had a nasty week of fighting colds but I think we're finally on the mend and its SO nice to get out of the house this week!!

Cole found baby Brady's carseat at preschool and helped himself!

Giving each other sled rides using a big blanket!

Cole tried pulling Sydney but it didn't work out so well.

Riding bikes at lake miramar

Walking to the playground.  SO nice not having to take a stroller every time we go.  I sometimes have to carry home for half of it but he is doing so great at walking most of it.

They dumped more sand one morning so that was fun!

Cole found mommy's heels :)

He said, "Look! Mommy!"

Picking pinecones

Sweet boy

Found a roly poly

Sydney sharng her lip gloos

Teaching Cole how to apply it

Back at his favorite spot - feeding the ducks.

We were getting ready to leave when I saw this hatchery truck coming down the ramp. I had a feeling  it meant they were going to re-stock the lake so we stayed for a bit longer - and SO glad we did!

Waiting to see the fish

Here they come!

SO neat!

Her feet can touch the ground now - guess she needs to use the 'big girl' swings from now on!

Talking about who knows what with her friend Savannah

After 6 days of a fever and coughing/sneezing, I took Syd to the doctor.  She asked if bunny could come too...

She did great!  Doc said it was just a cold/bug that had to work its way through.  She said she could give us antibiotics or we could try to keep treating it with the humidifier, lots of clear liquids and healthy food - which we chose and she is now good!

This past Saturday was HOT here (high 80's/low 90's) so we headed to the beach early!  Syd asked if she could bring her chair - so cute seeing her sit next to Daddy at the beach.

They played SO well for so long.  Makes me happy thinking we may have some beach lovers and may spend lots of days there during the summer :)

\
Dave is sitting under the umbrella waaaay back there.  Cole would fill up his tiny shovel/spoon with water and try and carry it all the way to Daddy to show him his water.  Did it over and over and over.

And they're out!  Successful beach day...until, we get home and they both decide that the 15 minute nap was long enough.  ahhhhhhh.

I had promised them ice cream the day before for something (I can't remember what) so took them after the beach (No nap + sugar = probably not the best idea but they were SO appreciative and good so I guess it all worked out).

He LOVED it

Getting every last drip.  He is so my son :)

She enjoyed hers too.  And then asked to come sit next to me and for me to take a picture of her.  Such a sweet girl.

This picture cracks me up - Sydney started riding and Cole got on the back to go for a ride.  She said she was giving the clown a ride!!!  Must have read that in some circus book!

They both had fun and no one got hurt!!!
