September

Ahhhh it's almost October!  Here are some pictures of what we've been up to earlier this month:

We have been able to swim a TON at Nani & Poppa's!  It was a hot September here so we took advantage of being close and swam often!  The kids got very comfortable in the water and was so fun to watch them!

Daddy was gone for a week for work and we surprised him inside the airport when we picked him up.  We had some time to kill before his arrival so we played at the baggage claim. 

Sydney went to a birthday party at an place that had a bunch of bounce houses/slides/inflatables.  Her favorite thing - playing baseball!

I think this was the hottest it got.  Gross!!

Preschool 2014/5

Summer is over (although it sure doesn't feel like it with the heat we have been having!) and we are getting back to our preschool and MOPS routine every week.  While we filled our summer calendar with playgrounds, libraries, friend playdates, splashparks and beaches, it is nice to get back to get some structure back in our lives.

When I asked what she wanted to be when she grows up she told me that she wanted to work with elephants and all animals.  Later that morning, while we were driving to preschool, she told me she wants to be a zoo keeper!

 We are doing the co-op again this year and so far, so good.  It's my turn to teach on Monday so we'll see how I'm feeling after that :) 

Cole is joining the group (along with another little brother who is 2 months older than Cole) during circle time.  Believe it or not, Cole was one of the best behaved kids!  He listened so well and actually participated.  Sydney was so great with him!

Picture Day!

We had Sydney & Cole's pictures done last week.  What these pictures don't show is that it took over 2 hours from start to finish, included a few meltdowns and a lot of bribery :) .  I'm impressed the photographer was able to get these shots!

Cole - 18 months

Our little buddy turned 1 1/2 almost a month ago! I think our baby days are gone - he is looking/acting so much like a toddler now. 

He is officially a walker now and is talking so much more than just a month ago!  His latest words are Chargers (Daddy is excited football is back!) and I Love You (Ruv you).

He wants to do everything Sydney does.  If she has something, he wants it.  If she is drinking something, he wants the same thing.  She tolerates him pretty well (and vice versa) but I see some conflicts in our future!!!

Sit down for this one... I think he is FINALLY sleeping through the night.  Woooo hooooo!!!  He goes to bed between 6:45 - 7 p.m. and is up at 6 a.m.  Even if we put him down later he is up at 6 so we're sticking with the earlier bedtime for now!  He is taking one nap a day, around noon, for about 2 hours.  

The majority of the time, Cole is a really good eater.  If he wants something that he knows we have and you don't let him have it, he will shake his head no until he gets it!  Loves peanut butter, strawberries, cantaloupe, kiwi, hummus, juice pouches, dried fruit, milk, pasta and most recent: spinach!!

LOVES books, balls, trucks, dirt :), anything Sydney is doing, being outside and the water. 

Loves animals, especially dogs, but recently has become scared when we go to the zoo/safari park and get too close to the larger animals.  

He weighs 24 pounds and is almost 31 inches.  

Happy 18 months, buddy.  We love you. 

August 2014

We had a fun end of August.  Sydney's birthday seems like forever ago when it really was less than a month!

The elephants were SO close this morning.  They were all down at the water drinking and two even went in for a bath.  We have never been there when they were down so low so that was exciting ;)

We had a great August and a wonderful first day of September.  Nani watched the kids so Dave and I could sneak away for a date day to the beach and happy hour!
