Christmas Lights

Every year growing up we would go to different neighborhoods to check out the Christmas lights.  We started the tradition this year and found a street near us that was decked out in lights! Sydney LOVED it!!!!

I think every Christmas decoration sold was on this lawn.

Honolulu City Lights

On Saturday night we headed down to the state capitol to check out the Honolulu City Lights.
First stop, Shaka Santa!

So pretty!

I messed up on the time that Santa was going to be there - I thought it was 5 p.m. when in fact he wasn't coming until 7... woops :)  Daddy got Sydney a balloon and some pizza to keep her occupied while waiting.

I think she would have been happier without meeting him!  I love how this Santa is wearing shorts and short sleeves   Only in Hawaii :)

Baby brother or sister?

I think we may be in for some trouble come February.  Seems like Sydney doesn't want a brother or a sister :)

Holiday par-tays

We got into the holiday spirit last weekend with two holiday parties.  The first, on Friday night, was for the Supply Corps Association on Oahu.  There were about 80 people in attendance - fun night!

Then on Saturday night we headed to a restaurant in town for Dave's work Christmas party.

I think we were all exhausted come Sunday morning!

It's beginning...

...to look a lot like Christmas!

We spent this past weekend watching our town's Christmas parade, cutting down our Christmas tree, getting the decorations out and attending holiday parties!  Nothing like 85 degree weather to get you in the spirit :)

This year was the parade's 50th anniversary so the opening float was a birthday cake.

Watching the parade.  We had to find some shade by the gas station about 1/2 way through - it was HOT!

On Sunday we drove to a local tree farm so we could cut down our own Christmas tree this year.

Someone is getting more teeth...

Excited to go check out the trees!

Running free

Of course there were chickens running around on the tree farm!

I think we found it...

Uncle Bubba & Hollie Visit

My brother Brian (Bubba) and his special friend (Hollie) came out to Hawaii for a week to visit.  They were able to visit a few different beaches, do some hikes, kayak, spend a couple days in Waikiki and even went on a snorkeling cruise where they swam with sea turtles and dolphins and saw whales!!
Brian and Hollie kayaking right after they landed

Sydney was a little too young to kayak so we kept her entertained with pretzel rods - helped her teething!

We hiked Maunawili Falls one morning with them.

I hope they were both happier than they appear in the pic above :)

Thanks for coming out to visit and spending time with us.  I'm slightly jealous that Sydney will say Bubba and Ho Ho (Hollie) yet she refuses to say Mama unless she's crying :)
