Beach time!

We spent a few hours on the beach on Easter.  Sydney LOVED walking into the water and would have kept going into the waves if we didn't stop her - this girl has no fear!  I have a feeling this summer is going to be busy keeping up with her :)

While Sydney is still a little young to hide Easter eggs and have chocolate, we had a great day celebrating as a family!

8 months!

Syd turned 8 months old on Thursday!  We've seen an incredible change in her over the past week or so.  We have both commented numerous times how she seems so "gown up" now and is acting more like a little girl than a baby!  So fun!

Sadly, the site that I use for these collages is stopping their service at the end of this month so this may be the last one.

 We have to be quick with the pictures now because she rarely sits still!  

 She is officially now a crawler and is into anything/everything!  She tries to pull herself up on us/chairs/couches and would stand all day if someone would hold her arms.  Both of us think she will be walking before her first birthday.  

This girl loves to eat and does so well at mealtimes!  I am still nursing her 4 times a day but she also is eating breakfast, lunch and dinner in her high chair.  She still prefers the 'sweet' veggies and fruit but we have also started her on cheerios and yogurt with meats to follow this week.  She continues to hum after every bite which always makes us laugh :) 

She's a pretty good sleeper as well!  She takes a morning and afternoon nap which usually last at least 1-1.5 hours each!  There's usually one night a week where she'll wake up in the middle of the night for some reason but normally, we put her down between 6-630 p.m. and she doesn't get up until 6-7 a.m.  It's awesome! :)   She still takes a morning and afternoon nap 

 She LOVES books, playing with her blocks and being outside!  Recently, she has started to give 'kisses' to her dolls and stuffed animals, as well as people/babies in her books.  We've tried to get it on tape but she always stops when we pull out the camera.

Better start babyproofing!

It's official, we now have a crawler.  She's been trying for the past week or so but has just mastered getting around by herself!
Considering she just crawled about 10 feet in a minute and found her diaper bag, I think it's a sign that I get off the computer and chase her around :)  Good-bye easy days of laying her down on the floor and showering.  sigh.

We blew up our inflatable pool we got for Sydney over the weekend.  The ocean water is a little too chilly for this Hawaiian baby so we thought this would be perfect for our backyard!  She didn't stray too far from the side but seemed to like it.

Picking flowers & "more"

We were outside playing and Sydney was fascinated with the flowers so daddy let her pick some.  Here is a video:

I wasn't able to get her signing 'more' on the first video but here she is telling us more (or we're telling ourselves she's using baby sign)...

Special delivery

My uncle sent out a box for Sydney with a cabbage patch doll and several beanie babies that used to be my grandma's!  

I remember when beanie babies were a hot item and Gram would take us on beanie baby runs early in the morning to get the newest release.  My dad kept saying he couldn't wait for them to be worth several thousand dollars.  Well, we may have to hold onto these for Sydney's kids because we just looked on ebay and they are currently going for $2... ugh!

Gram kept the original box her cabbage patch came in and the birth certificate... from 1985!!!
